Prime Therapeutics, LLC has contracted with CoverMyMeds® to provide an electronic prior authorization (ePA) solution that allows Participating Pharmacies and Prescribing Providers the ability to submit PA requests within workflow. This online solution allows Participating Pharmacies and Prescribing Providers prescribers to receive real-time notifications of the PA outcome.

To assist Participating Pharmacies with streamling the ePA process, CoverMyMeds® has created an integrated prior authorization solution called EasyButton.

Following is the 1st Quarter 2015 update to the Highmark Drug Formularies and pharmaceutical management procedures. The formularies and pharmaceutical management procedures are updated on a quarterly basis, and the enclosed changes reflect the decisions made in December 2014 by our Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.

Surescripts is expected to begin mailing rebate checks within the next two weeks to independent community pharmacies on its e-prescribing network. The rebates are calculated at 3-cents per billable transaction between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2014. Surescripts also has announced that it will offer a similar rebate program for 2015 transactions, payable early in 2016.
