Catamaran, an OptumRx Company, updates pharmacy profiles weekly by receiving pharmacy specific information from the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP). Profile content includes NPI, NCPDP, licensure information (e.g. DEA, state license), Medicaid ID, provider affiliation, ownership information, provider dispensing type, phone number, email addresses and pharmacy contact information. It is imperative that you routinely update your pharmacy information to ensure your pharmacy’s contact information is current, and that your pharmacymeets Catamaran’s credentialing requirements.

When the Alabama Legislature reconvenes on Tuesday, April 5, there will be 11 Legislative Days remaining in this year’s Regular Session. While the members are at home during the Spring Break it is a good time to CONTACT them face-to-face or at least call them regarding several pharmacy bills.

MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. processes pharmacy claims for Medica Health Plans MINNESOTA Medicaid membership. 

While diagnosis codes are not currently required for processing these claims, effective 04/04/2016, if diagnosis codes are submitted on the claim request, the only code values that should be supplied are ICD-10 values. Up to five (5) diagnosis codes may be submitted on the claim request using the Clinical Segment.  Per the NCPDP standard, when submitted, ICD-10 diagnosis codes should not contain a decimal point.

Senate Bill 117 passed the House Banking & Insurance Committee on Wednesday, moving to the Consent Calendar for the House Floor. It was given a first reading Wednesday afternoon.
