Since 1984, APCI has been the ‘united voice of independent pharmacy’

APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

CVS Caremark®: INTotal Health - Formulary Changes

Effective October 1st 2016

INTotal Health is an existing plan sponsor with CVS Caremark®. Effective October 1, 2016, INTotal Health will make the formulary changes listed in this PDF.

Based on these changes, some medications may no longer be covered by the plan or may require additional Prescriber action to be covered.

MagellanRx: Fond du Lac Regional Clinic - Important Notice

Effective October 1st 2016

New Plan Information

As of October 1st 2016, the Rx processing information for Fond du Lac Regional Clinic employees has changed. As a result of this change, members have received new ID cards and with a new BIN, PCN and RxGRP for prescription claims processing.

Enrollee Identification Cards

Eligible members have a new ID card with the new processing information. As of October 1st, 2016, all new pharmacy claims must be processed using the newly assigned numbers. During this transition, members may have two cards, so please be sure to reference this new card beginning October 1st.

Payer Sheets

In preparation for this transition, a new Payer Specification Sheet is available. We encourage you to review the Payer Specification sheet and contact your software vendor to make any necessary changes to support this transition.

OptumRx: Cigna - New Point of Sale Rejects

Effective October 1st 2016

In October, two new reject codes will be released. Non-Medicare/Medicaid products will require the following updates to avoid Point-of-Sale Rejections:
  • NCPDP Reject 39 (MISSING/INVALID DIAGNOSIS CODE)
  • NCPDP REJECT CODE 614 (UPPER CASE REQUIRED)

CVS Caremark: Aetna - Procedures for System Downtime

On September 27th and September 28th 2016

ACTION REQUIRED: On September 27 and September 28, 2016, the following or similar reject may have occurred on some Aetna claims: <<System Unavailable/Host Unavailable>>. This unanticipated reject has been resolved.

According to our records your pharmacy had claims impacted by this downtime. If you have not already done so, please assist plan members and resubmit applicable rejected claims. Please contact the plan member as appropriate once a paid claim has been captured. If the plan member has paid cash and received the medication, please resubmit the claim and refund the member as appropriate.
