APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Prime Therapeutics: Processing Update for Generic Crestor® for Medicare Part D Covered Persons

Dear Valued Provider,

Rosuvastatin (generic Crestor) was added to our Medicare Part D formularies in August 2016. This is a cost-effective option for Covered Persons currently filling prescriptions for Crestor.

As a reminder, please review the Generic Drug Standards in Prime Therapeutics’ Provider Manual for Pharmacy Providers at www.primetherapeutics.com.

Please check with the Covered Person about switching to the lower cost generic version. In most cases, this will be significantly less costly than what the Covered Person is currently paying for Crestor.

For questions regarding coverage of Crestor or the new product, please refer Covered Persons to the Customer Service number on the back of their insurance card.
