Since 1984, APCI has been the ‘united voice of independent pharmacy’

APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

CVS Caremark®: Updates to Performance Drug List

Effective January 1st 2017

CVS Caremark manages multiple drug lists. Within the therapeutic categories represented, identification of preferred drugs may help optimize clinical results and economic value for your patients. The drug lists include preferred products within 80 percent to 90 percent of the top therapeutic categories that affect our clients prescription drug spend. Updates or changes to these lists may affect cost share for your patients.

CVS Caremark may add or remove drugs from our Performance Drug List during the year. If we add/remove drugs from our drug list, we will notify you of the change(s) quarterly.

However, if the U.S. Food and Drug Administration deems a drug to be unsafe or the drug’s manufacturer removes the drug from the market, we will immediately remove the drug from our drug list.
